Organizational and Human Resources (OHR)

-
OHR skills define the set of abilities needed to function not only as bringers of change but also as managers of the processes and resources- human capital, financial, physical, that facilitate change. Within this context, Professionals demonstrate a good understanding and application of ways by which administrative concepts such as supervision, hiring, budgeting, communication, programming, evaluation, professional development, fund-raising, politics, conflict resolution, crises and risk management, networks, effective alliance formation, technology, etc., operate within their organizational environments.

Professionals are operating within the complex environment of the wider institutional industry, and need to leverage Organizational and Human Resources skills in order to perform transformational work within the system, to manage resources and as well as to achieve professional goals. These skills are especially important in this era where practitioners are increasingly needing to provide rigorous accountability and to strategically source for external capital to sustain the work.

Evidence 1 shows a programming proposal and budget that I created for a multicultural skills development training for students. Evidence 2 is a position announcement that I created for hiring to fill an Associates Dean of Students position. The photo was taken at a Student Affairs conference where I co-presented on supporting international students use of mental health resources as part of my master's degree experience in Educational Administration.
